Biography Tamora Pierce

Hello everyone! I recently discovered that some very popular books have received single-star ratings from me–except I haven’t actually read those books at all. So before you get upset, know that I’ve reached out to GoodReads to sort out the confusion. Now, back to my profile.

While I would love to join book groups, I unfortunately don’t have the time to participate. Please don’t be offended if I decline your invitation–I’m just incredibly busy with work and appearances.

Don’t be surprised by the number of books I’ve read. When I get bored, I enjoy going through different lists and rediscovering books I’ve read in the past. It’s a great way to use up time when I should be doing other things. Obviously, I’ve read a lot of books in my 54 years!

I was born in South Connellsville, PA, and later moved to California and then back to Pennsylvania where I attended high school. After graduating from the University of Pennsylvania, I began writing and eventually published my first book, The Song of the Lioness fantasy quartet.

I lived in New York City with my now spouse, Tim Liebe, and currently reside in Syracuse, New York. I have numerous novels, short stories, and a comic book arc in print, with more projects on the way. So stay tuned for what’s to come!
